The Michael Post.

Here ya go folks. I know you've all been waiting anxiously for this...the story behind...THE STORY.

*BTW, this is a picture of Michael and I as depicted by Michael :)

Once upon a time, a young fair lass and a young fair lad both lived in a quaint little town known as Flagstaff, Arizona. Therein lived many hippies and the smell of pine trees always filled the air. The young lass, who we'll call Marr-Rhyzle, and the young lad, who we'll call Michael lived in the same apartment complex and thus lived in the same ward boundaries. One day...another young lad, who was friends with this Marr-Rhyzle had an idea to make a music video for the Institute's Got Talent show.

(According to Ryan, he was inspired to ask Michael to play the male role in the video, and thus received revelation....he takes MUCH credit to the putting together of our relationship. I agree. To Ryan, I say...thank you :D)

And so, with a video to make, Michael became the male role in a video set to the song "Hey, Soul Sister," by Train :) PLEASE, by all it :)  Here is the video:

This inevitably started a budding romance...that no one saw...or at least I didn't...
To continue, Michael was our across the way neighbor, and he frequently came over...because that's just what he did. He visited all the girl's apartments and would sing random songs on his guitar, tell random stories, just be awkward...IDK you name it, he probably did it :) But either way, I'm not going to lie...I thought he was the most awkward boy I had ever met. At this point, I had decided that I was sick of "the dating scene" and that I would just let things be as they would be. Little did I know that something was about to happen just around the corner...:)

Well, Michael continued to come over. And in all actuality, I thought he liked someone else. That and the fact that I didn't like him like that. I enjoyed his company, I thought he was funny...but I didn't think too much of it. I guess you could say it was very, very gradual. He spent a good deal of time at our apartment and for the most part, I didn't know we had so much in common. There was a week where he spent 3 out of the 7 days at our apartment until almost 3am talking about...stuff.

There was even a night where he had brought up dating. To my disgust, he had talked about going on dates with "40 girls" and according to him, he thought he had lost my interest. Apparently, he was trying to hint at me, that EYE could possibly be one of those girls. (Psh...only a boy would see that as a compliment...)

Well, it was only a week or so later that he asked  me on a date. Quite literally, sitting down in front of me and saying, "We should go on a date." I agreed and we swung dance that night with some friends from the ward and had a good time. From that night on, we spent time together learning more about each other and just having a good time. Our friendship had created a stronger relationship for us, and I can truly call him one of my best friends.

*MWAHAHA...this is definitely my FAVORITE picture of him :) Proof that he secretly loves the Spurs :)

Since then, we find more and more commonalities between us...whether they are life goals...or things such as our favorite gatorade flavor. (Yes, we are cool like that.) It's interesting for me to see how alike we are, when my first and everlasting impression of him was, "Wow, you are awkward."

(*Here's one of our first pictures. We're such classy people.)

That's right folks....happiness comes from where you least expect it! And right now, I couldn't be any happier :) He makes me happy in a way that I don't think I could truly describe to you :) It's about the small things my friends...I'm telling you! So, for a moment, I'm going to brag about my lovely if you're reading this Michael...I hope I don't embarrass you :)

-Like when he opens the car door for me....oh how I LOVE chivalry :)

-Like when he buys me Oreos and Symphony Bars when Aunt Dot decides to visit each month.

-Like when he watches High School Musical with me to make me feel better...;D

-Like when he will take me to places I've never eaten to bring "adventure" in my life.

-Like when he'll put on tiara's in Michael's (the craft store) because I ask him to :)

-Like when he drives me to Mesa, just so I can see the temple lights.

-Like when he'll cheer for the Spurs instead of the Suns because I hate the Suns. (Oh he hasn't done that...I guess that's just me having wishful thinking ;D)

-Like when he let's me cry on his shoulder, so I can let everything out.

-Like when he gives me piggy-back rides because I don't feel good...or because I'm lazy...haha :)

-Like when he'll teach me how to drive a stick shift...even though I almost kill him.

-Like when he makes me "Weekend Survival Kits," so I can occupy myself while he's gone.

-Like when he calls me beautiful or gives me little compliments.

-Like when he brings me orange juice and ibuprofen when I'm not feeling so well.

-Like when he lets me win at bowling to make me feel good about myself. (Oh wait, he didn't let me win...I just win cause I'm good like that...;D)

-Like when he treats me the way I'm supposed to be treated and recognizes me as a Daughter of God :)
Yep my friends. I AM LUCKY. I'm just saying ;) I've pretty much found myself the cream of the crop....WOOOOOOP! :)

 *Awww! Isn't he adorable?? :D

BUT, you can be just as successful as he is as well :)
Just as a little hint to the gents who  may read are some tips! ;)

1) BE A GENTLEMAN. Prove that chivalry is not dead. There is NOTHING wrong with opening the door for the young lass you may have your eye on!

2) Girls like to talk. I know...sometimes it's hard for you to keep your focus, but I PROMISE, that relationships built around trust and communication will prove to be lasting.

3) There is nothing wrong with watching a chick flick. Yes gentleman, you enjoy all that gun shooting and face punching and crazy ninja kicks and blowing up building stuff...but FOR THE MOST PART (not that we don't enjoy a good action flick every once in a while.) we enjoy the romantic comedies...the "fairy tale ending" movies that make us cry :)

4) Be yourself. We don't like you to pretend to be someone else. It should be obvious that we fell for who you are. Don't try to be anyone else but you :)

5) Recognize their potential. I.E. gentleman, SHE is a Daughter of God, TREAT HER THAT WAY. Same goes for the ladies, that good lookin' fella you're after is a Son of God :) Help him honor his priesthood. Know that you both have great potential!

6) Some of the easiest ways to have a good time requires little to no money at all. Sure, us chicas enjoy being splurged on every once in awhile...but some of my most enjoyable times with Michael have been the simple things. Just getting to hang out, watching a movie...doing something that didn't require an arm and a leg. A lot of times gentlemen, a date that is service oriented is the most fun...and rewarding!  :) (And considering we're all poor college kids anyway...let's not empty their already empty bank account!)

7) SMELL GOOD. This is more of a preference on my behalf, but gentlemen...good hygiene = happy lady! Remember...if you wear cologne...2 sprays is MORE than enough. TYVM! :)

8) Have confidence in yourself. Nothing is more attractive than a guy who knows what he wants. It makes the girl feel more secure...;)

SO ANYWHO. Those were just some random tidbits that came to my mind. Hopefully they helped you some :)

*These are just random pictures of one time when we went bowling :) My score is on the top, Michael's on the bottom...hmm....;)

GAME 1, Marr-Rhyzle wins!! :D

GAME 2, Marr-Rhyzle wins AGAIN! :)

GAME 3, Michael wins! (FINALLY!)

*Psh, by this wrist hurt...I had to let him win at LEAST once >:)

To go on with the current far, life is going really well :) We've met the family...and I LOVE his family :) They are sooo awesome! I'm just saying :) But things are going great...we're living life and having fun :) He makes me happy and I couldn't ask for anymore than that!!

So, to you ladies that think, "it's never going to happen." WELL, think again :) Sometimes, it comes when you least expect it! You never know where you'll find you knight in shining armor....but for now...I've found mine! <3

That's all for now folks! I'll let you know how things go...but for now, I'm happy :) Until next time...

Love, Marr-Rhyzle

Dear Readers,

I have easily concluded that I am HORRIBLE at keeping a blog. *Deep, heavy sigh*

FORTUNATELY, I made it a goal to do my absolute best at being better at it :) Aren't ya super excited for that?? :)

Anywho, it's 2011 folks! Yep....I'm that's a new year, haha ;) Well, seeing as how the last time I wrote was September...looks like it's flashback we GOOOOO!

Oh October. In Flagstaff the leaves change colors and it's quite a beautiful sight. The weather also gets a little bit chillier and the cold wind rolls in. It's one of those months where you look forward to the annual Institute Halloween Dance!! :) This year, my friends and I dressed up as the characters from Clue....

Yep, we're pretty much LEGIT :) From left to right: ME, as Miss Scarlet, TANNER, as Professor Plum, RACHEL, as Mrs. White, ANDREW, as Colonel Mustard, LIESEL, as Mrs. Peacock, and MICHAEL, as Mr. Green :)

ALSO, during the month of October is...GENERAL CONFERENCE!! :) Twice a the LDS world, we have General Conference :) For 2 days, the Prophet and General Authorities of the Church speak to us about the Gospel, ways we can improve, the things of the Church, and it's just a spirit filled fun fest!! :) It happens in Salt Lake City, and so, my friends and I drove 9 hours to Provo, Utah. (Home of the BYU Cougars!) And stayed there traveling to and from Salt Lake to sit inside the amazingly beautiful and immaculate Conference Center to hear the Men of God speak! :) AND WE HAD GREAT SEATS!! Thanks to Ashley's Home Teachers...:)

Aren't we so lovely??? ;)

Mmm, November usually means one thing. THANKSGIVING. Yep folks, the one day we can stuff ourselves silly, and not have to feel guilty AT ALL. Shoot, at least that's what I do ;) But before we get there....let's see what else happened during the lovely month of November...

Yep, Winter Formal. And not just that...but GIRL ASK GUY DANCE. GAH. (If I could express my full frustration out in may get offended.) Every LDS girl who lives here in Flagstaff knows why "GAGD" (as I will call pun intended.) are so frustrating. When you live in a place where the ratio is 10 girls to every 1 guy...things can get a LITTLE crazy. Meaning:

1) Guys get asked to formal MONTHS in advance.
2) By the time you get around to asking someone...there's no one left to ask.
3) You feel like you're on a hunt to beat every other girl wanting to ask that ONE guy you want to ask.

It's pretty much crazy. You outsource guys from different cities...or you just don't go. Either brings out the vulnerable side in most girls...having to make the first move. NOT ONLY THAT. But being Mormon in a way obligates you to ask in some crazy creative way...yep. We're just cool like that :) Take for example the picture of me on the left. That's right...that was how I asked Matt to the dance.

My sign most eloquently reads....
"You'd be a DUM-DUM to not go to winter formal with me! Escort me on Nov. 19th to CANDYLAND and I promise GOOD & PLENTY of fun! You'd be a SUCKER to not come with me!"

And of course the things that are in all caps are where I so creatively put candy and candy wrappers and then draped the frame of his door with endless amounts of suckers. Do us mormons go a little overboard sometime? YES. Do we love it? ABSOLUTELY.

On the bright side...I got to wear what I like to call..."the Princess Dress." You know. The billowy, dress that makes you feel nothing short of a princess....LOVE IT.

Oh yes. For a Relief Society Meeting, we had a Missionary Work Workshop :) Complete with missionary attire....can you say HAPPINESS??!? HOLLA!! :) Let's just say, I was one happy little miss this night :D

ALMA 29, Book of Mormon.

If you haven't read it folks. Go do it. NOW.

And of course THANKSGIVING! Oh how blessed am I :) A day with lots of food and lots of fun :) Plus my family and I decided to be cool people and all match. YEP, PLAID SHIRTS FOR EVERYONE!!! :D

I'm pretty sure Christmas-time is the greatest time of year! Everyone is usually happy and it's just full of good thoughts :) This year, I promised myself to focus on what Christmas was really about. It was a great blessing to focus on my Savior, Jesus Christ, and all that He has done for me. It truly made this Christmas time special...:)

My friends and I decided to have a huge group date....:) I planned most of the festivities for the night, but let me tell you what was included :D

1) It started off with a picture scavenger hunt, where the gents had to find each clue with the last one leading to the dinner destination. This time, meant the top of the NAU parking garage :) Complete with blankets, candles, and the beautiful night sky of Flagstaff :)

2) Banana splits at one of the apartments and UNO. Psh, what's better than that?!

3) The last was, each couple was given a bag of Christmas goodies. Knick knacks, cards, a Book of Mormon, and we all traveled to downtown Flagstaff where each couple was given 30 minutes to give away all of their presents....I guess like Secret "Ding Dong Ditch" Santa :) The couples weren't allowed to explain, but simply to give the gift and walk away :) Gotta love giving!! :)

Anywho...from this, you may conclude. I LOVE PLANNING THINGS. The end. :)

OH....this boy<3 And how happy he makes me :) Well, pretty much, the story is. We are in the same ward. We live in the same apartment complex. It all started with a video project my friend Ryan wanted to do for an Institute's Got Talent show :) (I will post video in the next post.) Chemistry happened and WHA-BAM. We're dating :) I have never been happier. And how is he sweet? He drove me down to Mesa...just so I could see the Mesa Temple Christmas Lights :D Cause I had never seen them before...:) I will tell you a little bit more about him my next post. I will call it, "the Michael Post."

And of course...we can't forget...THE GIRLS :) Minus Bree...who at the time was in California. Here's the story. In high school, we were inseparable. We spent our lives together. Whether in class, sports, clubs, study groups, or just hanging out. We were all together :) BUT, then life came upon us and we had to grow up. College faced us and were forced to grow up and move on. On to our separate ways. Lucky for us, time and distance hasn't changed the strong bond we have, and even when we only see each other on breaks and holidays...we make the most of it :)

2011. Wow, where on earth has time gone? WHO KNOWS. It seems as if when you're having fun...time flies! But here it came, 2011. A new year. A good time to reflect upon the things that need to change and how to improve yourself better as a person.

Spent the New Year's in Bullhead :) With good friends and good company...what better way to start off a New Year...right? RIGHT. :) Thank you for agreeing.

Yep, on January 17th, 2011 I hit my 2 year mark. Meaning, 2 years ago on the day, I was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints :) Let me tell you folks, I have never been MORE BLESSED in my life than I have in the past two years!! I have come to know of the plan that our Heavenly Father has for each and everyone of us. I know that I am of "royalty." That I am a Daughter of  God and that I have great potential. I know that I have a Savior, Jesus Christ, who suffered it all so that I could one day return to live with my Heavenly Father again. I know that the church today is led by a TRUE prophet of God, Thomas S. Monson, and that the church was restored ALSO by a TRUE prophet of God, Joseph Smith. I KNOW, that if you read the Book of Mormon, and that if you sincerely pray to know the truth of it's divinity, that God will answer your prayer. I know that the Book of Mormon will change you life. I know that because I have experienced it. I have seen how allowing Christ to be a part of my life has added meaning and understanding to where I was before I came here, why I'm here now, and where I'm going after I die. I KNOW and testify that the things I say are true. AND YOU can know too, if you have that desire. All you have to do is ASK. Ask and test our Heavenly Father. PRAY to know the truth. HE WILL ANSWER YOU.

Anywho...that's the just of what has happened in the last couple of months. I'm sure I missed a whole bunch...but that's what the next blogs are for right?? :) I hope you enjoyed my random spiel of words. I'll try to better at writing more often. Until then. be happy! SMILE :) Life's full of just have to learn to recognize them :)

Love, Marr-Rhyzle :)
